In the game, ye are required to speak in old-world pirate style english, so the remainder of this post will be written that way.

Yaaar, it's a great multiplayer game, where ye play as a pirate, and work yer way up the ranks in yer crew, from cabin person to pirate, to officer, to senior officer, and then someday create yer own crew maybe and become a captain!

To make a ship run, all of the people on it have to work on the different stations, such as sailing (to move the ship), carpentry (to fix the ship), bilging (to take water out of the ship), gunnery (to load the cannons), and navigation (to amplify the efforts of the people on sails).

Also, ye can attack other ships, and other ships can attack ye. When ye enter a battle, yer captain will do the puzzle battle navigation, which is where yer captain will pilot the ship and battle the other ship. When yer captain grapples the other ship with a grappling hook,(after shooting a couple cannonballs into it), ye enter the puzzle called swordfighting. The more cannonballs that hit a ship, the harder a swordfight is to win. The swordfighting puzzle is kind of like tetris, but more like Dr. Robotniks mean bean machine. Ye probably haven't heard of it.

Anyways, If ye win the swordfight, ye get pieces of eight, also know as PoE. It's the currency of puzzle pirates, which ye can spend on many things such as clothes, new swords, getting yer portrait done, buying a ship of yer own, buying a shop, etc. Ye can also work at a shop, doing things such as distilling and ship building. Ye can also play games at the inn, such as hearts, spades, and treasure drop (which is like avalanche) but ye have probably never heard about that either...

Altogether it's one of my favorite games that I've ever played. I also give it a 10 out of 10. Try it, you won't regret it.

Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves (PS2)

Well, after just finishing the game, I thought I should do a review on it. Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves is a fantastic game and it’s based on a great idea. You play as Sly Cooper, a raccoon thief trying to stop the mechanical bird, Clockwerk.

In the last game, Sly Cooper destroyed Clockwerk, and although it was destroyed, the parts remained unharmed. The police (called Interpol) confiscated the Clockwerk parts and put them all in one place. In Sly Cooper 2, the Cooper gang, which is made up of Sly and his friends; Bentley the turtle (who’s the brains), and Murray the hippo (who's the brawn) help him with his heists. They are accused of stealing the Clockwerk parts. The Cooper gang then finds out that the Klaaw gang has stolen the parts from Interpol, and sets out to get them back before the Klaaw gang re-assembles Clockwerk.

This game is extremely fun, and has a great storyline. Sly, Bentley, and Murray each play differently. Sly is the most versatile, and has the coolest moves. He can run along ropes and climb lamp posts, he can do a spire jump (which is where he jumps on a point without getting hurt, like the points on those gates with spikes on the top to keep people from climbing over the gate.) He can also sneak around ledges, and pickpocket with the special cane he has.

Bentley has a crossbow that shoots sleep darts, and he can thwack people with it. He can’t do anything that Sly does other than the basics like jump, move, and whack enemies. But, he can shoot sleep darts to put enemies to sleep and drop bombs that explode in a small radius. And he can hack computers, which is like a mini-game, where you play as a little thing that looks kind of like a spaceship with a turret, and you have to destroy the other spaceships and get to the end of the course and to win. It’s one of my favorite parts of the game.

Murray has the basic moves and can do the move thunder flop (after he jumps up, he slams down on his stomach and hurts enemies close to him when he hits the ground).

The best part of the game is the movie-like intricate heists, where you have to do many things such as recon and re-directing water flow so you can sneak in where the water was re-directed from in order to set up the big heist. You do about 10 jobs like those to set up the big heist. These heists are elaborate schemes that are really challenging and fun. I love this game. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Chip Off the Old Blog

Wow!
